Game disclaimer: Fundamental Risk Detective uses fictional financial data. The scenarios are designed for financial education and entertainment. They are not investment advice or recommendations.

Fundamental Risk Detective is an interactive financial analysis game from StockMaster Universe where you investigate companies and search for hidden financial risks before making an investment decision. Instead of answering traditional quiz questions, you become a financial detective and examine simulated company financial statements, ratios and business clues.

Each case presents a fictional company with important financial information such as revenue, net profit, cash flow, debt, debt-to-equity ratio, interest coverage, operating margin and return on equity. Your mission is to investigate the evidence and decide whether you would INVEST, AVOID or INVESTIGATE the company further.

The game covers common fundamental-analysis risks including high debt, weak cash flow, declining profit margins, rising inventory, increasing receivables, poor interest coverage, negative free cash flow, value traps and governance concerns.

The most important lesson is that a company should not be judged by one number alone. A business can show strong revenue growth while experiencing cash-flow problems. A stock can have a low P/E ratio while its earnings are deteriorating. Similarly, rising profits may not always mean that the underlying business is becoming financially stronger.

As you investigate each case, you can open different evidence files to examine the company’s debt, cash flow, profitability, working capital, business quality and major red flags. After making your decision, reveal the hidden risk and see whether your investigation identified the most important warning signal.

Successful investigations earn Risk Detective Points and help you progress through different ranks, from Rookie to Financial Risk Master.

Fundamental Risk Detective uses fictional financial data and simulated scenarios, making it a risk-free way to practise fundamental analysis and learn how professional investors think about financial risk.
