About Hang Seng Futures

Hang Seng Index (HSI), the benchmark of the Hong Kong stock market, is one of the finest known indices in Asia and widely utilized by fund managers as their performance benchmark.

The HSI is really a free float-adjusted market capitalization-weighted index of the constituent stocks. The influence of every stock on the index’s performance is directly proportional to its relative market value. Constituent stocks with higher market capitalization may have a greater effect on the index’s performance than people that have lower market capitalization. The constituent stocks are grouped under Properties and Utilities sub-indices Finance, Commerce, and Industry. To meet up the growing pursuits in the Hong Kong inventory marketplace and growing demand for associated hedging tools, the Hong Kong Futures exchange (HKFE) first delivered HSI futures contracts in May 1986.
